Early Childhood/Children Music Classes
Early Childhood music classes are for children ages 3-6 years old. This program is designed to introduce children music through song, dance, rythmic movement, and play.
We specialize in teaching music to children in a fun, positive, non-pressured and lively classroom setting. In this emotionally comfortable environment, children have the freedom to love and appreciate music, while developing fundamental musical skills that will last a lifetime.
These classes prepare the young child for later formal instrumental study. It is an ideal way to begin a musical experience. Parents are also welcome to attend classes with their children.
Choir
The Choir is open to anyone in the community who is aged 6 years old and above. Students are placed in a choir according to age group. If you enjoy singing, this is the class for you! Students develop reading skills, as well as choral and vocal techniques through a variety of musical styles.
Music Theory
Theory classes are open to anyone in the community, even students not enrolled for private study in the MZ1. Music theory is an important and integral part of a comprehensive music education. Basic musicianship skills of ear training, sight reading, and dictation, fundamentals of notation, rhythm, and harmony are learned. Students are placed in an appropriate level, which is determined by a placement test.
Adult Programs
We also run adult small group classes, for the beginner and for those looking to develop their music playing style, using a mixture of contemporary and classic soul and R&B styles.
